Le Refuge de Solaise Hotel
The highest altitude hotel in France nestled at 2551m
This luxury hotel started life as the original upper cable car station for The Solaise cable car, Val d'Isere's first ski lift built between 1939 and 1942.
The Refuge is only accessible via the ski slopes and the new Solaise Gondola lift, so when the ski lifts close you will be cut off from the rest of the world. Once there, and in the silence that follows the closing of the lifts, you can experience 'one-ness' with the mountains as you enjoy 360-degree views and discover unexpected comfort at altitude.
The hotel is made up of 4 apartments and 16 beautifully appointed rooms, as well as 'The Dormitory', a restaurant, a spa, a library with a fireplace, a projection room for the evenings and a seminar area. A range of room types are available:
- Classic rooms sleep up to 2 people and offer panoramic floor to ceiling windows, a large double bed or 2 single beds, a bathroom with a shower.
- Superior rooms for 2-3 people include panoramic windows overlooking the village and the valley, a large double bed or two single beds, a sitting area with sofa bed, a bathroom with shower and bathtub and separate toilet.
- Family rooms sleep up to 5 people and include panoramic windows, a large double bed or two single beds, a small seating area with sofa bed, a bathroom with shower and bath, a second adjoining room which has either a double bed or two single beds, plus an independent toilet.
- Suites sleeps between 4-6 people and consist of a spacious room with 1 large double bed or 2 single beds with a beautiful sitting area with a sofa bed, a bathroom with shower and bathtub, an open mezzanine with three single beds (or 1 double and 1 single), a shower room and separate toilet.
All bedrooms come with a hairdryer, TV, telephone, WiFi, minibar and safe.
The Dormitory is a genuine dormitory of 14 beds for groups of friends and memorable evenings, offering 14 old wood niches in the spirit of a traditional refuge with a choice of double or single bunks all with access to a shared bathroom, 2 toilets, sound system, WiFi, individual lockers and hairdryers.
