Altitude Hotel, Val d'Isere

Popular hotel at the foot of the legendary Bellevarde ski run

featured in Hotels

A great find in Val d'Isere, this hotel has created the perfect balance between tradition and modernity. From the moment you cross the threshold, you will be cocooned in its contemporary alpine ambience and delightful furnishings.

The hotel's location is fantastic - even a complete beginner could probably slide as far as the lifts without having their first tumble! Furthermore, you have great views over 'La Face', the famous ski run, and it's just a quick schlep across the bottom of the pistes to the town centre.

This hotel offers a wide range of facilities including sauna, hammam and gym, a meeting and seminar room and a relaxing bar area. There are 40 guest bedrooms set out over 3 floors, all of which have been tastefully decorated with natural wood panelling and warm textures and fabrics. Most of the rooms have balconies with day-long sunshine for the south-facing ones and great views over the town for those north-facing.

The hotel itself is very family orientated and the majority of rooms are sufficiently spacious that they can easily accommodate extra beds. In addition, children under 6 stay for free during low season if sharing their parents' room.

For a 3* of this standard, the prices are probably amongst the lowest in the resort for this class of hotel. If you are seeking quality and value for money, then look no further than here. Although get in quick as you will be vying with the many returning clients for a room!

Visitor comments

  • "Warm and welcoming, traditional alpine hotel in great position with easy access to the slopes. Nicolas, the owner is the perfect host, as are his staff, they made our stay truly memorable. The food is delicious, and we loved the cheese trolley every night too! In all a fab stay, we will return!" - Trip Advisor
  • "Lovely hotel and excellent staff. This lovely, recently renovated hotel, is warm with lots of French Alps charm and a twist of modern. The staff is fantastic and ready to help you with anything from ski area recommendations, weather reports, rentals, or great wine recommendations at dinner. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel like part of their family. Rooms were lovely and if you're lucky enough to book on the upper floors, you get your own balcony with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. This hotel is ski in/out and a 5 min walk to town." - Trip Advisor
  • "A gem of a hotel. Pleasant rooms with good facilities, though might have had problems with the number of sockets had there been two of us. Food excellent with ample adjustment to dietary needs. Very friendly staff." - Trip Advisor
