This refuge is open annually from mid-June to mid-September
A great stop off on a long hike or a beautiful refuge if you are looking to get away from the crowds for a while. there are plenty of hiking trails in the area and lots of wildlife to enjoy.
The refuge consists of three adjoining chalets:
The refuge serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks - all home cooked using fresh local ingredients. Picnic lunches can be provided on request.
Bivouacking is allowed after 19:00 and the tent must be taken down before 08:00 (in July and August only). Places are limited and you'll need to book.
In winter the refuge is open but unstaffed and there is no running water.
There are plenty of hiking trails in the area and lots of wildlife to enjoy.
In Val d'Isère, take the road south to parking "Le Manchet". Then take the marked path to the east (550m climb).

Although Val d'Isère has many fine restaurants, you will be spoilt for choice at La Table de l'Ours.

Opened in December 2017 and located in the heart of Val d'Isère, the renovated Maison de Val hosts a museum dedicated to the history of the area.

In the heart of the skiing action at the bottom of the pistes is the lift pass office/kiosk in Val d'Isere.
Located in the centre of the town and near to the Hotel Le Brussels and English medical centre is this lift pass office.
Inside the Le Fornet cable car building you will find this lift pass kiosk.
Located at the La Daille Funival close to the bus stop in La Daille, you can collect lift passes and lift information.
Le Joseray, Le Legettaz and Le Chatelard sit just south of Val d’Isère, offering a quieter pace of life with stunning valley views. Many properties have ski-to-the-door access to the Bellevarde and Solaise slopes, while chic chalets and self-catering apartments provide a comfortable base. A handful of local bars and bistros are dotted around, and the town centre is just a short bus ride or walk away. In summer, the area is ideal for hiking, walking and mountain biking.
Val d'Isère centre is an array of lovely shops, restaurants, chalets, hotels and apartments. This bustling village centre is nestled into the valley, complete with classic chalet-style hotels and buildings constructed with stone and wood giving the centre a traditional and warm feel.
Le Fornet village is full of delightful chic chalets that are built in the traditional Savoyard wood and stone style lending a classic rustic feel to the village.
Le Crêt is a small traditional hamlet of Val d'Isère that is surrounded by beautiful mountains and offers excellent views over Val d'Isère itself. Old converted farmhouses that have been restored to an excellent standard make up this small part of the region.
La Daille sits at the entrance to Val d’Isère and offers mostly high-rise self-catering apartments with a few traditional chalets. It’s ideal if you want a practical, budget-friendly base with great access to the Bellevarde ski area. A free bus takes you to the town centre in five minutes or you can enjoy a half-hour walk through the surrounding mountains. The village also has a handful of bars and restaurants.
