La Folie Douce - La Cucucina Restaurant, Val d'Isere

1. La Cucùcina Restaurant

Location
Val d’Isere

Located at the top of the Daille bubble, within the celebrated La Folie Douce hotspot, enjoy gourmet Italian cuisine prepared by a renowned chef and his Italian team.

The restaurant name is two Italian words combined, La Cucina (food in Italian) and Cucù (crazy in Italian). Representing both craziness and Italian cuisine, it's the perfect name for La Folie Douce!

The menu includes traditional dishes with a modern twist, such as:

  • Carpaccio di Sicilia: a gamberoni (shrimp) carpaccio with coral juice and black garlic
  • Pollo alla diavola: a superb spatchcock chicken dish, served with creamy polenta mosto cotto (cooked grape must) and grapes
  • Profiterole di Cucùcina: vanilla cream, a salted caramel centre and hot chocolate coulis.

The restaurant decor is inspired by the works of Italian Renaissance artists and pays particular hommage to Leonardo DeVinci. It's the perfect setting to enjoy your delicious Italian meal.

The restaurant is open for lunch every day from 12:30 to 16:30.

La Casa Scara Restaurant, Val d'Isere interior

2. La Casa Scara Restaurant

Location
Val d’Isere

A charming Italian restaurant in the heart of Val d’Isère’s old village, opposite the church. It serves authentic Italian cuisine with fresh pastas, risottos, meat dishes and delicious desserts in a warm, relaxed Alpine setting. The menu changes seasonally and pairs well with a good Italian wine. Guests love the welcoming service, hearty portions and cosy atmosphere, though reservations are recommended in peak season.

Portions are as hearty as you would expect from such a food-loving nation and dishes such as ossobucco, risotto, polenta and tiramisu are a welcome change from the usual Savoyard fare.

Reservations are advised during peak season. Open from 19:00 to 22:00 in winter and summer.

Pizz'n'Love Restaurant, Val d'Isere Centre interior

3. Pizz'n'Love Restaurant

Location
Val d’Isere

This funky friendly little pizzeria is open every evening for freshly baked pizzas. Well-priced eat-in or take-away, with a menu full of all the usual classics, plus a few unexpected choices on there. They have an extensive beer menu with some international labels, plus a half decent wine choice too. Desserts aren't fancy, but who can go wrong with Ben & Jerry's. Open in summer and winter, we recommend to phone ahead, especially in peak season.

The drinks list is much more extensive with international beers such as Kwak, Duvel and La Chouffe to choose from, as well as wines and ciders.

Open every evening from 17:00.
