Val dโIsรจre feels firmly back in full winter mode after a significant spell of snowfall reshaped the mountain. The high bowls above the village are filled in, the faces around Bellevarde look properly white again, and even the lower slopes have taken on a deeper, quieter feel. There is a settled mid winter atmosphere around the resort now, and on the mountain conditions feel magical while remaining reassuringly consistent.
Snow depths are now around 220 to 250cm on the upper mountain, with approximately 110 to 130cm in resort. The recent snowfall delivered between 60 and 90cm across the area since last Thursday, with the heaviest accumulations falling above 2200m and some wind redistribution on exposed ridgelines. This snowfall has significantly improved coverage and snow quality across the entire ski area, with strong skiing conditions on most pistes at all elevations and soft, supportive snow underfoot. Daytime temperatures at altitude have been ranging between -9 and -5 degrees Celsius, with the freezing level close to 1200m, helping preserve the new snow. Winds were strong during the snowfall but have eased, allowing lift operations to return to normal. Despite the outstanding conditions on piste, the volume and intensity of recent snowfall have resulted in very high avalanche risk, particularly in off piste and uncontrolled terrain, including steep slopes close to marked runs.
The outlook for the coming days is mostly dry with a mix of high cloud and brighter spells. Cold overnight temperatures are expected to keep snow conditions stable and well preserved, especially at altitude. Any further snowfall looks light and mainly focused on higher elevations later in the week. In resort, Val dโIsรจre continues its winter programme with evening events, on mountain activities and regular aprรจs ski entertainment.
Skiing in Val dโIsรจre is currently excellent across the mountain, with deep snow, strong coverage and high quality conditions on all pistes. Skiers should remain within marked and controlled areas, follow local safety guidance closely, and avoid off piste terrain unless accompanied by a fully qualified local guide due to the current very high avalanche risk.
