Getting around Val d'Isère
Once you've arrived in Val d'Isère, how do you get from A to B?
You've probably spent a long time organising how to get to resort, but getting around in Val d'Isere itself is equally important.
We’ve put together this handy guide on the best way to get around so you can get to all the key places, and help you find your bearings quickly.

Buses
Val d’Isère runs an excellent free bus service linking the various areas all day, every day, with a less frequent service after the ski lifts close.

Driving in resort
Whilst it’s tempting to drive between resorts, parking can be difficult during peak seasons and it’s not exactly ideal for the environment. If you do drive, carpool when possible and ensure your vehicle has winter tyres or chains between late November and early April.

On foot
Val d’Isère is very accessible on foot. The town centre is relatively flat and you can walk to most places within 10 or 15 minutes. It's worth buying some ice-grippers for your boots, as Val d'Isère operates a white road policy. They can be bought online or from most winter sports shops in town.
