A large chalet-style restaurant in the Fornet sector, popular for offering good food at reasonable prices.
The restaurant has a large terrace for sunny days and 2 floors of indoor seating for when it is cold. The food and drinks are all self-service and of a good standard, prices are reasonable despite it being a high-altitude and relatively isolated restaurant.
Open daily throughout the winter season for lunch, snacks and drinks.
- "Been to La Cascade a couple of times and very impressed with the speed of self-service, size of menu and the inexpensive prices they charge. Had Entrecote Steak and Chips for €12.50 which was delicious and considering this is probably the highest restaurant in Val D'Isere, the logistics of running the place must be very challenging, particularly as there had been 1m of snow in the previous couple of days. Fantastic sun terrace for later in the year." - Trip Advisor
- "Great food, great value and a lovely great big terrace. This self-service restaurant is worth a visit. Great hot food and also a lovely salad bar. A big queue when we visited – one guy serving all the hot food didn’t help. However, the best value lunch of the week." - Trip Advisor
- "I have been coming to Le Fornet for 30 years - starting when the only catering on the glacier was a clown selling hot chocolate from a thermos. La Cascade is waaaay better than that and it is fundamentally astounding that they produce food of this quality at this price there on the glacier. Wow. I had the plat du jour twice last week & each time I was impressed. My companions had salads - which they are also very happy with." - Trip Advisor
