Hikers intrigued by the unusual presence of an abandoned car up at 2700 metres at the end of the lake Ouillette discovered the lifeless body of a man in the lake on Sunday.

The hikers gave the alert to the police when they discovered a man floating in 5 metres of water after spotting a car with it's door left open just after midday on Sunday.
The local gendarmes recovered the lifeless body in 7° water and have since identified him as a forty year old from the North East of France.

The area is a popular fishing spot but as yet no witnesses have come forward to help understand the cause of death.
