Behind the Scenes at the Olympic Cable Car

Visit the snow management control room and see the inner workings of the Olympique cable car on a guided visit.

Visits start at 4:45pm in front of the Solaise cable car and are free of charge - you simply have to register in advance before 3pm on Wednesday at the Tourist Office (20 places available).

Tours last approximately 2 hours in both Ebglish & French and may be cancelled if fewer than 5 people register or if bad weather prevents lifts from opening.

Val d'Isère hosts a wide range of events throughout the year. There are constant ski racing competitions throughout the winter, as well as the much anticipated La Scara youth event each April. In the summer, the resort plays home to some major trail running events such as the High Trail Vanoise in July, with Tour de France stages often passing nearby in July.
