Lots of snow has finally arrived in Val d'Isere, however according to local weather centres, more snow fall and high winds are going to continue until the end of next week creating a higher risk of windslab.

Rain and then more fresh snow on top of an already complex snowpack are making off piste conditions very risky, especially over 2000m.

The avalanche risk today has been set to HIGH 4/5 across the Alps on all susceptible slopes. Keep an eye on the daily avalanche bulletin and the weather forecasts for the latest updates.

With high winds come lift closures, so do also keep checking in on the Live Lift Status to see which parts of the ski area are open. When the avalanche risk is this high, it's advisable to stay ON piste at all times.

Local authorities are calling for vigilance from all mountain users. Stay safe out there.
