The World Record Car Jump in Tignes may be over after Guerlain Chicherit crashed this morning during a practice jump.

Chicherit's Mini can be seen to pitch forward as it comes into the landing ramp and then crashes and rolls. According to local newspaper Le Dauphine the paramedics and fire service were on hand but Guerlain's condition it is not yet known.

Guerlain Chicherit was attempting to break the world record for the longest car jump. His beefed up Mini had been specially modified to make the jump and it was hoped he would be able to jump over 100m to break Tanner Foust's record set in 2011.

The jump had been postponed on Monday due to unfavourable weather. On 16th March Chicherit's Facebook read: "So I was ready to jump this morning but the weather was no good. High temperatures and fog. We decided not to jump today and reschedule it for maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm gonna study the weather very closely and keep you updated."

It was during this morning's practice session in Tignes Val Claret that the accident happened.
