The Ice Trail Tarentaise boasts the highest highest trail race in Europe with 65km of trail and over 5000m height gain.

Leaving Val d'Isere at 4:00 the route covers the following :

  • Tignes - Grande Motte (1st runners to arrive at 6:45)
  • Chalet du Charvet - Ruisseau de la Gd Tête (1st runners to arrive at 7:45)
  • Val d'Isère - Refuge du Fond des Fours (1st runners to arrive at 9:00)
  • Val d'Isère - Pont de la neige (1st runners to arrive at 9:45)
  • Col de l'Iseran (1st runners to arrive at 11:00)
  • Val d'Isère - Parc des sports Charles Diebold for the finish (1st runners to arrive at 11:45)

As well as the Ice Trail there are a number of other races taking place at the same time: Altispeed (32km/2500m+), Les Balcons de Val d'Isere (18km/1300m+), Montagnard (12.5km/1400m+), Trail Jeunes (1.5km/62m+).

Upcoming Events

Val d'Isère hosts a wide range of events throughout the year. There are constant ski racing competitions throughout the winter, as well as the much anticipated La Scara youth event each April. In the summer, the resort plays home to some major trail running events such as the High Trail Vanoise in July, with Tour de France stages often passing nearby in July.
