Val d'Isere is more than just a ski resort. Well-known for attracting the keenest of skiers, as well as a well-heeled crowd, it boasts world-class pistes and lifts, great apres-ski, gourmet restaurants, and high-quality accommodation. Its excellence has been recognised at the Condé Nast Reader's Travel Awards 2018 where it has been given the title of "Best Ski Resort".

Nestled in the Tarentaise Valley at the foot of the mountains, just by the Vanoise National Park, Val d'Isere is probably one of the most beautiful resorts in the French Alps. Not only that, but its exceptional altitude makes it snow-sure throughout the winter, receiving record snowfalls year after year.

It's also one of the largest ski areas in Europe with 300km of pistes, including those in Tignes to which Val d'Isere is linked, all accessed by fast, modern lifts. Its apres-ski scene is legendary, there's a wide variety of restaurants offering all sorts of cuisines and a great assortment of activities on offer suitable for all ages both in the winter and the summer. Most visitors stay in one of the charming chalets dotted around the valley but there are also hotels and apartments on offer. No wonder Condé Nast readers have chosen it as their favourite ski area in the world!
