Progression Ski School, Val d'Isere kids lessons

1. Private ski lessons

This ski school was set up in Val d'Isère in 2006 and has been hugely successful allowing them to expand into the resorts of Tignes, Les Gets, Morzine and Chamonix.

At this school they focus on the client and their needs and tailor make their approach to suit you. The offer a great range of lessons for all ages and abilities, so whether you are completely new to snow-sports or have plenty of experience, they can help you achieve your goals.

They offer private lessons as the ultimate way to improve your skills. Your own coach who can apply the lesson specifically to you and how you want so it can be as focused or as casual as you would like. Lessons can be for one to six people and can be from complete beginners to off-piste lessons for those looking to venture further afield.

Note: for off-piste lessons, they need to know in advance so they can bring the appropriate equipment. This is provided free of charge and includes an ABS airbag/rucksack, Ortovox transceiver, and an aluminium shovel and probe.

2. Private ski lessons

This ski school was formed in 2012 by a small group of experienced and dedicated instructors who wanted to re-kindle the 'club' atmosphere of teaching snowsports.

The school offer private on-piste lessons for skiing, snowboarding and télémarking. They also specialise in off-piste guiding and lessons, for the more adventurous.

Piste skiing and snowboarding

Piste lessons and guiding sessions are offered on a private basis for adults and children alike. They’ll take up to six people in a group of family and/or friends which keeps things comfortable for everyone.

They can cater for all levels, from the complete beginner to the accomplished, even expert wanting to refine his or her technique. Taking a private instructor is also a fantastic way to discover the vast area of the Espace Killy, making sure that you get the most out of your skiing with none of the stress of being in a resort you may not know.

They offer sessions in the morning and/or afternoon which really enables them to optimise your time on the slopes, mixing up technical coaching (for those who want it) with skiing for fun. If you’re looking for purely technical content, you might want to consider the shorter afternoon sessions. You can also go for full days, with the option of skiing in other resorts such as La Rosiere/La Thuile, (worth it for the great Italian food at lunchtime!) or La Plagne, Les Arcs etc.

Télémarking

This ski school also offer télémarking lessons! Why learn to télémark? It feels very different from skiing or snowboarding. The movements are elegant, the sensations are new - and of course you’ll impress the hell out of all your mates down the pub! You can télémark anywhere you can ski - there are no limits other than those imposed on you by your thighs!

If you are a good skier, two afternoons of instruction will suffice for you to start having some fun on green and blue pistes. If you are a complete beginner, the progression will be at the same rate as if you were learning to ski.
