Criterium de la Premiere Neige cancelled

FIS move event due to lack of snow

The aptly named Critérium de la Première Neige (First Snow Rally) is by default the opening event every December in Val d'Isere and is part of the World Cup skiing circuit.
However with the recent unfavourably conditions in resort the event has been moved to Colorado where snow depths are more normal for the season.

Snow is now on the forecast but it will arrive too late to assure the event and recent temperatures above zero have not allowed the snow canons to pump out the snow as originally hoped for.

Even though the event is cancelled Val d'Isere has some of the best ski conditions around although isolated to the Pissaillas glacier and to the top of the Solaise, the Criterium normally takes place on the Bellevarde piste.
